The Spinx Co. is celebrating 40 years of business this year and in honor of their anniversary, the company is giving away free gasoline.

In 1972, Stewart Spinks bought his first store at the corner of Washington Street and Laurens Road in downtown Greenville and expanded his company to more than 65 locations in North and South Carolina.

For the anniversary, the company plans to hold a 40th Anniversary Celebration event at a local store every 40 days throughout the year, where they will give away free gas to 40 customers, starting Thursday.

In order to find out which store is giving away the gas, customers must visit the Spinx Facebook page and use the series of clues to figure out the secret store location. Customers can like the company’s Facebook page to receive alerts on the clues.

The company is also offering $1,000 scholarships to 40 local high school seniors as a part of the anniversary celebration. The scholarship applications open on March 1 online at http://www.myspinx.com.

STOP buying, START MAKING!!!

Greetings everyone, I’m back, and I have something to share for all you smokers out there.  Why pay $4-5- or even $6.00 for a pack of smokes when you can make your own!  It’s really simple to get started, and the amount of money you’ll save is AMAZING!  I first was introduced to this idea by my wife’s aunt and uncle.  They went to a local tobacco shop called I.M.M.O. Tobacco.  (I.M.M.O. stands for I Make My Own).  They were always going on and on about how much they were saving, but I really didn’t pay it any mind.  After a while, they convinced my mother-in-law to try it out.  In just a 2 week period, she had saved over $100! When she told my wife that… I was told that I didnt have a choice, we were getting me a machine!!!!

This is the EXACT machine I got for myself.

As you can see in the image above, I went with the Top-O-Matic Cigarette Making Machine.  If I recall correctly, I paid $34.95 for it at a local tobacco shop.  I have seen this same model online for as high as $50, and as low as $30.  I reccomend shopping around (as I ALWAYS do!).  Once you have decided on what machine to get, you can go on to getting your filter tubes and tobacco. They have both regular and menthol, kings and 100′s

As you can see from the two images above, the filters usually come 200 per box.  That’s the same number of cigarettes you get in a full carton.  While a carton of smokes can cost up to $45-50, one box of filter tubes is usually less than $3.00!!!!

The tobacco comes in a variety of blends offering you choice!

I have tried the brand of tobacco in the picture above (Gambler) and it is just as good as smoking a name-brand Marlboro or Newport.  The bag I am currently on is a brand called “Four Aces.” and I’ve been on the same bag for nearly a whole month.  A bag of tobacco the same size as those in the picture above should cost around $12.95! You will get WAY more tobacco in a bag of tobacco than you would get in a whole carton of cigs.  Needless to say, to finish off a bag, you’ll need more than one box of filter tubes.  I have so far saved OVER ONE HUNDRED DOLLERS!!!  My has been saving nearly $200 every two weeks!!!  This really is the BEST way for a smoker to save money.  With all the tax increaces in recent years on tobacco, the price of cigarettes has soared, but for those of us who MAKE our own cigarettes… It’s not that bad.  That will do it for this post, remember shop smart and save big, but NO ONE SAVES LIKE JESUS CHRIST SAVES!
